six “supermajor” oil and gas companies.
“Enlightened companies are already well on the way to transforming their finance functions to be
more efficient and to better support decision making. This has included developing finance
professionals and deploying them as finance business partners across the business”
CIMA (2009) Improving decision making in organisations.
Assuming the role of a Management Consultant, prepare a report for the Board of Directors of the
Company which;
1. Critically evaluates the changing role and image of Management Accountants over the last
three decades; and
2. Evaluates how Management Accounting Business Partners could better support decision
making, control and performance management within the company, and the challenges of
implementing this ‘new’ model.
