In many developing countries, informal settlements are common. People living in such areas experience more living challenges than those in formal settlements. The urban management system has been making efforts to improve the life in slums in spite of the economic conditions within the country. Slum dwellers face challenges associated with insufficient living area, inadequate sanitation, insecure tenure, lack of clean water, and poor housing. New formulations are necessary to improve the lives of those in the slums and prevent any other members from joining them.
