This paper analyzes the challenges faced by multinational enterprises and the directors managing those firms. It also gives some suggestions on how managers and human resource departments can deal with some of these problems. Through the literature analyzed, it is clear that MNEs have to deal with economical, political, cultural and social issues when establishing multinational firms. Although managing multinational enterprises have proved challenging at all levels, those managers who will take advantage of the emerging technologies and strategies will have a brighter future. The truth is that globalization and internalization has become part of the 21st century and the future. There is a great need for firms and managers to consider going global in order to take advantage of the many opportunities available. However, effective strategies are the key to success in such ventures.
