Health Promotion: Rural Mental Health Promotion in the Aging Population

Health promotion and the role of the advanced practice nurse (APN) are an integral part of —–. The United States Department of Health and Humans Services (HHS, developed an initiative to set objectives to keep the nation’s population “healthy”. These initiatives are based on the premise to prevent disease, chronic illness and promote a healthy lifestyle. Healthy People 2020.gov, developed strategies, goals and objectives for health promotion and disease prevention leading into the next decade. These topics are drafted from a comprehensive list of objectives. These prevention strategies focus on the patient and community in which we live.
