EXAMPLE TO FOLLOW:
And do not mix the truth with falsehood or conceal the truth while you know it is an excerpt from the Quran and is one of the ways the text is translated
into English. In some translations, mix the truth is translated as covered not Truth or Confound not Truth. While there are many different ways to translate the text, the overall theme would be that once someone has an understanding, or possibly made a covenant with God, (this case being the Islamic Allah) that you should not deny or mix faiths. I would have to disagree with the passage since understanding other religions and beliefs may lead to a greater understanding of the world. To strictly close off your mind with a single theology, leads to a willingness to understand other cultures.
On an online Time.Com article titled Dalai Lama: Muslim Practitioners Must Extend Love Towards Entire Creation of Allah was published January 06, 2015 which covered the recent trip of the Dalai Lama to Washington, D.C. While in D.C., His Holiness spoke to a group of Muslims and Buddhists saying most Muslims are peaceful and that there has been great suffering since 9/11. One of the interesting points of the article was that His Holiness said that there should be a peaceful demonstration to try and force major news outlets to cover more good news that comes out of the Muslim world. I found this interesting because is demonstrates His Holinesss continued adherence to non-violate demonstrations. These types of demonstrations are tantamount to the continued struggles of the Tibetan people. His Holiness must see them as a valuable mechanism for protests.
I think there are a few parallels from his statement and our class text. When His Holiness spoke to the group, he did not do it with himself in mind, but he did it to explain that even though they were all of different faiths, they could work with each other for a better word. I think this goes hand-in-hand with the principles of avoidance of fault finding, hatred, and violence. He is also works though the power of charity and good words.

WHAT NEEDS EDITING:
“But seek, through that which Allah has given you, the home of the Hereafter; and [yet], do not forget your share of the world. And do good as Allah has done good to you. And desire not corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters.” Surat Al-Qa?a? 77
Do good. Something often forget to think about and we do forget how blessed we are and how much good God has done to us. This verse taught me to appreciate my life, and be thankful and want to do more good unto others. The last part of the verse however is of utmost importance.
